Moggi : Buy Juan Manuel Vargas Is A Mistake !

Luciano Moggi wanted to have his say once again as he accused Fiorentina's Pantaleo Corvino that it was mainly his wrong decisions during the transfer market which led to his side's early exit from the Champions League and the poor start to their Serie A campaign.



The Viola's dream of reaching the next round of Europe's top competition were in fact shattered last week as the team lost 2-1 at home against Olympique Lyonnais.

"Fiorentina needed players of better quality to face the Champions Leagu and such a difficult league," he explained to Radio Blu.

"The Viola squad is based around three champions like Mutu, Frey and Gilardino, but they need more against clubs like Lyon and Bayern [Munich].

"I would have never spent €12 million for [Juan Manuel] Vargas. If it was for me, he would have remained in Catania."

Vargas has been struggling since his move from the Sicilian club this summer and has disappointed fans and critics alike following the excellent season he had last year.
