Paul Scholes has been out of action ever since jarring his knee during Manchester United's Champions League clash with Aalborg at the end of September.
The 34-year-old returned to training around a fortnight ago, and after putting the hard yards he is ready to return in tonight's Carling Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said in The Sun: “It is a great boost for us to have Paul back as he is such a top-quality player.”
Scholes' return to fitness is a huge boost to men from Manchester, especially as it was intially feared he would be out until January.
The former England star will go along way toward reinforcing - and reinvigorating - a midfield which has been somewhat depleted since Owen Hargreaves underwent season-ending knee surgery recently.
