MANCHESTER - Laga cons Chelsea Community Shield this weekend leaving their own inner fears Michael Owen. Bomber Manchester United seems still shadowed by the trauma of injury at Wembley Stadium, a few months ago.
Owen had to end the 2009/2010 season after suffering an injury early in the Carling Cup final against Aston Villa, the end of February. Former Liverpool star in action at last for the first time with the Red Devils in action trial against the League of Ireland XI, Wednesday (04/08/2010) night local time.
Striker 30 years and even contributed incised goals in United's victory (7-1). Not surprisingly, Owen is a little worried about facing the Community Shield match will be held at Wembley, Sunday (08/08/2010) night.
"It's not just me who suffered injuries in the Carling Cup final. That's worrisome," said Owen, referring to a minor knee injury that Wayne Rooney clapped at the end game.
"If it's just me, then you could call it a coincidence. But, the field at the stadium must have a role in these injuries," he told The Sun.
"Many injuries occur on the game or England international matches, a few days later," added Owen again.
Former captain of Newcastle United's hopes, changes were made to the managers of the stadium can guarantee the safety of players.
"My new Wembley last week. They put new grass there, where 10 percent of it is synthetic. I hope this makes a better field," Owen cap.
