Mexico announce final squad
The 51-year old has named his final SA2010 squad ahead of FIFA's June 1 deadline, and opted for the experience of Giovani dos Santos over his younger brother Jonathan.
Barcelona midfielder Jonathan dos Santos was given a full 90 minutes to impress in Mexico's recent 5-1 friendly rout against Gambia, but failed to make the final cut alongside defenders Juan Carlos Valenzuela and Adrian Aldrete.
Arsenal's Carlos Vela and West Ham United striker Guillermo Franco were amongst those who kept their places, with veteran forward Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Manchester United acquisition Javier Hernandez also booking their place in the squad.
Mexico kick off the World Cup tournament's opening game against hosts South Africa on June 11 before playing France and Uruguay in Group A.
