Rafa eyes Spain job
The under-fire Liverpool manager has been linked with a number of top European sides after a disappointing season at Anfield.
But he has revealed that his ultimate aim is to coach his national side, currently joint favourites for South Africa 2010 alongside Brazil.
"Right now I have four years left in my contract with Liverpool and I am very happy there," Benitez told www.as.com.
"But, of course, in a few years, once [current Spain manager Vicente] Del Bosque ends his work, I would like to be Spain coach.
"All of the Spanish coaches would like in the future to become national team manager."
Benitez added that Spain striker Fernando Torres - linked with a big money move to the likes of Chelsea and Man City from Liverpool this summer - will only decide his future after the World Cup.
