Cape Town Stadium

This stadium is located at the southern tip of Africa close to the city center of Cape Town. Just a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean, the stadium was constructed in an area called Green Point and is positioned in close proximity to Cape Town's central business district. The stunning Table Mountain will offer a quite dramatic backdrop for fans attending games. This in addition to a capacity of 68,000 spectators and it is clear why officials are particularly proud of this construction.

The stadium is well equipped to be multi-purpose and have the capabilities of hosting many different sporting events as well as concerts. Possible tenants at the stadium after the 2010 World Cup finals are football clubs Ajax Cape Town and Santos who both ply their trade in the South African Premier League.

South Africa 2010 organizers have given this venue a host of important matches for the final tournament. It will host a total of five first round matches, including the opening match, one Round of 16, one Quarter Final and one Semi Final.
