
Peter Mokaba Stadium
The Peter Mokaba Stadium is located in Polokwane, the capital of Limpopo. The stadium is one of five new stadiums that were constructed specifically for South Africa 2010 and is situated approximately 5km from the city centre with a capacity of 45,000.
The stadium is named after Peter Mokaba, an anti-apartheid activist who was born in Polokwane. Major renovations include a new sound system, electronic scoreboard and new floodlights.
The stadium consists of four two-tier stands and has a capacity of 46,000 spectators. The previous stadium consisted of just one main stand and three grass area making up the bulk of the viewing area. Post-World cup the stadium will host local football and rugby clubs.
The stadium will host a total of four first round matches.
