Loftus Versfeld Stadium
Loftus Versfeld Stadium is located in the city of Tshwane (Pretoria) approximately 5km from the city centre. Although the stadium has undergone several major renovations since 1977, the majority of the renovations have taken place since 2007 which has resulted in significant work to the Western stand.
In addition to meet strict FIFA stadium guidelines the venue has upgraded its floodlights, sound system and scoreboard. The stadium is named after the founder of organised sports in the city, one Robert Owen Loftus Versfeld. Loftus Versfeld has traditionally been used as a home venue for the Blue Bulls rugby union franchise
Loftus Versfeld will host five group stage matches and one second round match during South Africa 2010. The stadium is the only venue in the immediate vicinity of Pretoria that will be used to host South Africa 2010 matches.
